Who I Am
Where It All Started
Hello, I'm Jessica Thomas Head Decorator and Owner of Social Gurl Events. Being able to apply my talents in art and design has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. I began to grow more fond of design and decorating while working for my school , Notre Dame College. While there I did work study for the administration building for the alumni department where I helped plan and design for the different events. It wasn't until the end of 2017 beginning of 2018 that I decided to turn my dream into a reality by furthering my education in event Planning at New York Institute Of Art & Design and started my own business.
I am very detailed oriented and passionate about delivering great and stress free planning experience from start to finish. Working with my clients to brainstorm different ideas that will work for their event is a process. We will work with you to make sure your vision comes to life and that your event makes a statement. Having planned baby showers, birthdays, proms, to non-profit events, my organization and creativity have been taking notice throughout the community.

Along with my passion for design I want to be an inspiration for other woman like myself. On top of being an event Planner I am single Mother, Business Owner, Hard Worker, and Student. I want to inspire and motivate other woman that you can do anything you put your mind too, which is why I started a woman's group called Social Gurl Sista's. Sometimes we lose sight on why we work so hard and need positive words or reinforcement that we are doing a good job and our work is not going unnoticed.
Life can be tough sometimes and you may feel like there is a lot on your plate but I am here to say there is hope. You could start your journey with a set of goals to have accomplished by a certain time to later only have a couple of things achieved. I said that to say this, never give up on yourself or the process it takes you to accomplish your goals and dreams. As long as your surrounded by positivity, people that build you up and like minded peers your bound to be successful.
